A detailed explanation of your Water Utility Bill
Utility Invoices are sent out monthly.
Water utility rates are in the Water and Sewer Utility Rates and Fees Bylaw. The sanitation rates are included in the Waste Collection and Disposal Bylaw.
The water and sewer rate structure is designed to:
- Cover all the cost of water and wastewater utilities operations that include: treatment, storage, pumping and distribution/collection systems.
- Cover costs of the capital projects related to water quality, city growth and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure rate fairness for all users.
Miscellaneous charges, where applicable will appear on your invoice. Rates for any additional charges are found in the Water and Sewer Utility Rates and Fees Bylaw.
Penalties for Late Payment
Should a payment not be received within 28 calendar days of the invoice date a penalty of 2.5% of the outstanding balance will apply.
