2024 Garbage and Recycling Pick-Up Calendars
What goes in your recycling bin
Keep the City of Prince Albert clean by disposing of household waste properly. Download a copy of your Waste Collection Calendar to find out when garbage and recycling is picked up in your neighbourhood.
Household Curbside Pick-up
Garbage and recycling bins must be put out before 7:30a.m. on your collection day. Bins can be put out the day before your collection day any time after 4:00p.m. After your bin is emptied, it must be removed and put back on your property before noon the day after your collection day.
Container Placement
Containers must be put out to allow enough space for the mechanical arm on the garbage truck to “reach out” to your container.
Front Street Placement
Blue and green bins should be placed one metre from the curb and at least 2 metres from a parked car.
Rear Lane Placement
Blue and green bins need to be placed one metre away from fences, garages, power poles and overhanging trees.

Curbside Yard Waste Pick-Up |
Yard Waste is picked up the same day as your recycling pick-up starting in mid-May each year. Please see the Yard Waste page for more information. |
Broken, Damaged or Stolen Bins |
If you need your bin replaced, please call Public Works at (306) 953-4900 or complete Garbage, Recycling and Landfill Report a Concern Form. |
Household Hazardous Waste |
Household hazardous waste can pose a serious health risk if disposed of improperly. Household Hazardous Waste days allow residents to dispose of this waste for free. |
Landfill |
The Prince Albert landfill is located just north of the City limits, west of Highway 2. Summer and Winter Hours: To learn more about Holiday Hours, Rates, Passes, ect, visit the LANDFILL page. |
Extra Garbage and Recycling Bins |
You can rent additional individual roll-out bins for $10/month. This is an option for households that produce more garbage or recycling than what a single bin can handle. The charge will be added to your water utility bill. Some limitations may apply depending on the amount of room there is on the property. To make arrangements please contact the Public Works department. |
Compost Bins |
Two sizes of compost bins are available for sale at the Prince Albert landfill. 65 gallon $25 - Holds approximately 200kg of compost 200 gallon $30 - Holds approximately 485 kg of compost The bins are old refurbished garbage and recycling bins that are no longer in use. Bins can be purchased and picked up at the Prince Albert Landfill. Instructions for your new bin:

Apartments and Commercial Properties |
Anything over four residences in a unit (4-plexes or larger) and all commercial properties require private sanitation removal. Please contact your property owner for information on garbage and recycling pick-up for your building. For a list of private haulers, please see the yellow page listings. |
The Prince Albert landfill and the Garbage, recycling and yard waste operations are regulated by the Waste Collection and Disposal Bylaw.
