Permits

You may be required to make application for a permit depending on the type of project or work you want to do. It is your responsibility to contact us to ensure that you have your permit before moving forward with your project or work, and for us to help you through the application process.

Moving permits

Moving permits are for vehicles hauling a load that is over height, width, length or weight, or for moving a building through the city.

Building permits

Any building and renovating project for new construction, additions, or renovations to a building or structure requires a building permit.

Development permits

Development permits are for projects such as construction of a new building, an addition to a building or a change of use to a building or site (e.g. opening a hair salon in a building that was an office).

Encroachment permits

Encroachment permits are for the use of a street, sidewalk or boulevard during construction, repair or demolition of a building, structure or object.

Sign permits

Sign permits are for the construction or installation of a sign.

Crossing Permits

Crossing Permits are for building a new driveways that connect city streets or avenues or widening an existing one.
