Pay a Parking Ticket

There are a number of ways to pay for a parking ticket in the City of Prince Albert. Payment can be made within 10 days of the parking infraction using any of the following methods:

Pay Your Parking Ticket Online

Pay online

You can pay your ticket online three business days after you received the ticket using Visa, MasterCard and some Interac.
Allow two to three business days for your payment to go through.
Follow the instructions on the website. Do not hit the Back or Refresh buttons during payment processing.
We only accept Canadian funds and do not issue refunds.

To pay online, you must know your ticket number. The City of Prince Albert tickets are red and white. Prince Albert Bylaw tickets are yellow and can also be paid . Any other colored tickets cannot be paid online or at City Hall.

Certain tickets that have gone past due may no longer be available to be paid online. Please use one of the other payment methods listed below.

Pay by mail

You can pay your parking ticket by mailing a cheque or money order, made payable to the City of Prince Albert to:

Please include your ticket number on the cheque. Do not send cash through mail.

Pay in person

Payments can be paid at the cashier counter in the Financial Services department on the main floor of City Hall. We accept cash, cheque, money order or interac (debit) payments. Credit card payments are not accepted. Office hours are 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (excluding holidays).

You need your ticket number to complete the transaction.

Pay at our drop box

After office hours, payments can be left in the drop box located outside the City Hall Main door (West Entrance). Only cheques or money orders are accepted. Please make them payable to the City of Prince Albert. Do not put cash payments in the drop box.

Please include your ticket number on the cheque.

Challenging a ticket

If you wish to challenge the evidence of the officer who issued your ticket, please wait until you receive a summons in the mail – 30 days from the issue date. The summons will have your court date and time where you can attend to plead not guilty and dispute your ticket.

Collection process for parking violations

The below process describes the actions taken to collect unpaid parking violation fines and notices.

From the date of issue of your parking violation, pay the amount indicated on your notice by the due date.
If your parking violation remains unpaid, as of the thirty-first day, you will be issued a Parking Summons to the mailing address of the registered vehicle owner, to appear in Provincial Court.
A default conviction will result if you do not appear in court.
Once the Court process is complete, you will be charged an extra $40.00 if convicted of the parking violation.
After conviction, failure to pay may result in liens to registered vehicles, the vehicle may be immobilized and/or seized and impounded. Ultimately, the vehicle may be sold at public auctions to recover the amount of unpaid fines.

Broken meters

If you come across a broken parking meter, please contact the Parking Counter, Main Floor, City Hall and provide the street address of the parking meter and the meter number. Likewise, if you receive a parking ticket after parking at a broken meter, contact Finance, Main Floor, City Hall to fill out a complaint form.
