The City of Prince Albert reminds residents that Terry Simpson Lane's entrance on 28th Street E will be closed tomorrow. This closure is to ensure safety during the inaugural night of the North Sask. Football League and the season opener for the Prince Albert Raiders. Terry Simpson Lane circles the football field at Prime Ministers’ Park.
"Friday night promises to be bustling with the Raiders' season opener and the clash between St. Mary's and Carlton High School. In the interest of safety for pedestrians and emergency vehicles, we will be temporarily closing Terry Simpson lane," said Tim Yeaman, Parks and Open Space Manager for the City of Prince Albert.
A few things to watch for on the lane and around the Art Hauser Complex on Friday night are:
- No tires on grass or boulevard – This can cause damage to the grass and irrigation systems.
- No Parking Signs – these areas have no parking or stopping at all – these are not unloading zones and are designated no parking for safety reasons.
- Disability Zone – these spaces are designated for vehicles displaying only the official Placard provided by Saskatchewan Abilities.
- Staff Parking – these spaces are designated for vehicles displaying staff permits only.
- Fire Lanes – If you park in a fire lane, the fine is $100.
The Prince Albert Raiders are playing the Moose Jaw Warriors at the Art Hauser Centre at 7 p.m. The St. Mary's and Carlton High School football game starts at 5:30 p.m.
Edited to add: If you are attending the Football game, please park in the Carlton High School parking lot.
