The City of Prince Albert would like to inform residents that a section of Little Red River Park will be closed on Wednesday, June 28, 2023. The closure will extend from the Highway 55 access point to the Cosmo Lodge, including the lodge itself - (please see map).
This precautionary measure is being taken due to the increasing water levels of the North Saskatchewan River and the ongoing construction in this particular area of Little Red.
"The decision to reopen the closed section will be made on Thursday morning after a thorough evaluation of the most reliable flow-rate data and an on-site visit. We prioritize the safety of our residents and aim to guarantee that conditions are suitable for public access before reopening," says Tim Yeaman, Parks and Open Spaces Manager
Additionally, we would like to inform users of the park that there may be intermittent closures of the pedestrian bridge near the Cosmo Lodge to facilitate the construction work and ensure the safety of pedestrians.
