The City of Prince Albert, in partnership with the Rotary Club and Lake Country Co-op, hosted a grand opening of the Rotary Adventure Park on Friday, September 15, 2023. With a total investment of over $1.2 million, this extraordinary project has been made possible by the collective efforts and generosity of various contributors:
- The Rotary Club fundraising contributed over $500,000,
- Malcolm Jenkins Family Foundation donated $400,000,
- The City of Prince Albert contributed over $280,000.
The opening was attended by dignitaries, sponsors, Rotarians, councillors, the public, and some school groups. We thank Lake Country Co-op for providing a hot dog lunch and for their contribution to the Park. Remarks were made by Senator Cy Standing, His Honour the Honourable Russ Mirasty, The Honourable Joe Hargrave, Mayor Greg Dionne, Malcolm Jenkins, and Keith Fonstad on behalf of the Rotary Club.

The Takanka Kuwa Drum Group performed a welcome and an honour song. About 150 children from the Sask River School Division and Catholic School Division attended the festivities.
"Unbelievable. This is how I would describe the Little Red River Adventure Park. The kids love it already, and it made Little Red shine even brighter. We must thank the Rotary Club, Malcolm Jenkins and all the partners who made this happen. On behalf of the kids in Prince Albert, we want to say: Way to go!” says Mayor Greg Dionne.
“The Rotary Club of Prince Albert is so excited about the celebration of the Grand Opening of the Adventure Park as it’s a culmination of five years of planning, development, and fundraising for the Club and its members. We wanted a project that honours the 100 years of Rotary being part of the Prince Albert community, and we believe this project does that. Thanks to everyone who supported the Club and helped to get the Adventure Park open!” says Keith Fonstad, Chair of the Centennial Project Committee for the Rotary Club of Prince Albert.
The Rotary Adventure Park and Zip Lines has over 4 acres of play space for people of all ages and offers a wonderful escape into the backwoods to play and work out. The construction utilized over 300 cubic meters of topsoil and over 250 cubic meters of Play Sand, ensuring a safe and engaging environment for kids to explore. With a diverse range of play pods/zones, including four 100-foot Zip Lines, the Rotary Adventure Park is poised to become a popular community destination, providing an unforgettable experience for residents and visitors to Prince Albert. The overall capacity of the Playground is for 300+ children.
All the Rotary Adventure Park features were catalogued in the comprehensive media release published when the park opened to the public on July 31, 2023.
