Has someone you know made contributions to Prince Albert? We invite you to nominate these contributors for the Queen Elizabeth II Platinum Jubilee Medal.
The City of Prince Albert has partnered with the Government of Saskatchewan in accepting nominations on behalf of citizens residing within the City limits of Prince Albert. The creation of the Queen Elizabeth II Platinum Jubilee Medal will provide an official means to honour significant contributions and achievements made by residents of Saskatchewan, particularly during the pandemic.
"We want to encourage residents to nominate contributors that serve our City. This is a great opportunity to lift someone up in our community that made a difference," says Mayor Greg Dionne.
The commemorative medal celebrates the 70th anniversary year of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II’s accession to the Throne. A total of 7,000 medals will be presented in Saskatchewan through the Platinum Jubilee year, which ends on February 5, 2023.
To be eligible for a medal allocated to the City Prince Albert, the recipient must:
- Reside within City limits the City of Prince Albert;
- Have made contributions to Canada, Saskatchewan, or Prince Albert in the areas of public service, volunteer programs, culture, diversity, and pandemic response; and
- Be alive on February 6, 2022, the 70th anniversary of Her Majesty’s accession to the Throne.
Nomination Deadline is October 31, 2022.
