The first snow over the last week has revealed many good Samaritans in Prince Albert that made the extra effort to clear not only their sidewalks, but also their neighbour's, a friend's, or family member's sidewalk too. If you had someone come out to help, consider nominating them for a Golden Shovel Award, which is a great way to acknowledge their thoughtfulness for lending a hand.
When nominated for a Golden Shovel Award, the individual receives a golden shovel keychain as a token of appreciation and a letter from the Mayor of Prince Albert thanking them on behalf of all residents. Their efforts in going above and beyond to not only clear the sidewalk for their neighbour, but for all pedestrians.
In addition, the person nominated will have their name entered into a draw for one of the following prizes:
- A $100 gift certificate to the Alfred Jenkins Field House
- A $100 gift certificate for the E. A. Rawlinson Centre
- Vouchers for six Raider Hockey Games
- Two adult green fees at the Cooke Municipal Golf Course
