Effective May 2nd, 2023 at 4:45 p.m. a Fire Ban has been declared for Little Red River Park

Due to the Fire Weather Index's current and predicted conditions for the grassland and forest fringe area, a fire ban has been declared for Little Red River Park. 

For the duration of the ban, no open fires are permitted. For cooking and heating purposes, the following items are permitted:

• Self-contained heating devices 
• Gas barbecues 
• Propane fire pits 
• Charcoal briquettes used in an approved fire pit

Recreational use of approved fire pits within the City, south of the river (such as cooking fires in designated receptacles in Kinsmen Park) is not affected by this ban at this time.

This ban will remain in effect until further notice.
