Every water meter in Prince Albert is connected to endpoint technology that requires a software update and the City of Prince Albert is requesting that residents make a service appointment as soon as possible. Appointments can be booked online at https://book.metercor.com/home/ or by calling 888-290-3070 between 8 am and 4 pm (Mon-Fri). Appointments usually take less than one hour. Please note that an adult, aged 18 years or older, must be home for the installation appointment.
The function of the endpoint technology is to communicate meter reading data back to the City Water Department. This data is an essential part of providing accurate billing. The disruption to the readings started in late 2021. Since then, billing has largely been based on estimates and data through the Eye on Water Mobile app has been unavailable.
The endpoint software updates will be done by Metercor and will come at no cost to the City of Prince Albert or water utility customers. A Metercor representative carrying identification will complete the update by attaching a small device to the endpoint that will update it with the new software.
“Estimates are not ideal, and I thank customers for their patience as we work through the process of these updates,” said Ramona Fauchoux, Acting Director of Financial Services. “The software update is necessary to get back to accurate readings.”
Letters detailing the update will be mailed out to invite impacted properties to make an appointment. The letters will be mailed out over the next few weeks to 5 zones in Prince Albert starting with zone 1 the week of March 28, 2022. Those interested do not have to wait for the letter and can make an appointment anytime.
