Public Notice is hereby given that the Council of the City of Prince Albert intends to consider Bylaw No. 19 of 2024 to amend Bylaw No. 1 of 2019, known as the City of Prince Albert Zoning Bylaw.
Reason for the Amendment: At the City Council meeting held on Monday, June 3rd, 2024, first reading of Bylaw No. 19 of 2024 was given and Administration was authorized to provide Public Notification for a Public Hearing. Bylaw No. 19 of 2024 proposes the following changes to the current Zoning Bylaw, which are the result of ongoing Administrative review:
- Amending Communication Tower regulations to be aligned with federal procedures;
- Updating requirements for site plan reviews;
- Permitting accessory buildings in the front yard of residential CR1 – Low Density Country Residential properties and school sites in Institutional zoning districts;
- Providing clarification regarding landscaping and parking in the front yard;
- Amending barrier-free parking regulations to refer to National Building Code;
- Change requirements for provisions of additional provincial and public health approvals;
- Adding a calculation for side yard setbacks of Multi-Unit Dwellings in the R3 – Medium Density Residential zoning district; and
- Amending the definition of Private Day Care Home to explicitly indicate it does not permit the provision of overnight accommodation.
Therefore, City Council, at its meeting to be held on Monday, June 24th, 2024, at 5:00 p.m., will consider all submissions both written and verbal respecting the Public Hearing for the above bylaw. If you would like your written submission reviewed by City Council PRIOR to the meeting, it would be preferable if it were provided by 4:45 p.m. on Tuesday, June 18th, 2024. In accordance with City Council’s Procedure Bylaw No. 23 of 2021, any written submissions must be provided to the City Clerk. Verbal submissions shall be heard during the Public Hearing portion of the meeting.
