Prince Albert, SK – Proudly presenting the Sport and Physical Activity Inclusion Grant!
In June of 2024, the City of Prince Albert rallied the community to get active for the month for the ParticipACTION Community Challenge. The Community Challenge is a national physical activity and sport initiative that encourages members of communities across Canada to get active throughout the month.
Over 1,200 communities participated in the initiative, and Prince Albert excelled throughout; being a standout both provincially and nationally. As a result, P.A. was awarded as Saskatchewan's Most Active Community for 2024, and received $15,000!
Thanks to the ParticipACTION Community Challenge, presented by Novo Nordisk, the City of Prince Albert is providing this grant opportunity for community groups to aid in increasing sport, physical activity and recreation opportunities to equity-denied populations within the City of Prince Albert. These groups are to be non-profit, and directly serve these populations and/or evidentially remove barriers for these populations in their sport, recreation and physical activity programming. The grant will be allocated to groups up to $2500 per group.
For the Sport and Physical Activity Inclusion Grant, equity-deserving populations would include:
- BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, People of Color) Communities
- Low-Income Populations
- Persons with Disabilities
- Newcomers to Canada
- 2SLGBTQI+ Communities
The deadline to apply is March 31, 2025. To apply, fill in the application form.
