The City of Prince Albert continues to work with emergency personnel, the RMs of Buckland and Garden River and the Saskatchewan Public Safety Agency (SPSA) to provide updates to residents and the public about the Prince Albert Cloverdale Fire burning northeast of the city.
As of 4:30p.m. on Tuesday, May 18, 2021, the fire continues to grow in size and is last reported to be approximately 40 square kilometres. This is a fast-moving fire and residents and the public are advised to avoid the area.
Residents are not allowed to return home at this time. The City has registered 50 evacuated households to date.
Emergency safety personnel are in the area working to contain the fire and ensure public safety.
Several roads in the vicinity around the fire remain closed Tuesday afternoon including:
- Hwy 55 East has been closed at the Prince Albert off ramp and Pulp Haul Road from Whitestar Road to Hwy 55 junction.
- Ministry of Highways staff have also staffed barricades at: Hwy 55/Pulp Haul Road, Hwy 55/Whitestar Road, West side of fire at JCT Pulp Haul Road and Whitestar Road, with a detour at Hwy 2, Hwy 355-01, Hwy 55.
- The Cecil Ferry remains open.

A State of Emergency for the City of Prince Albert remains in effect.
The City of Prince Albert along with the RM of Garden River and RM of Buckland are encouraging all evacuees to register with the City as soon as possible. Evacuees can register by calling the Margo Fournier Centre at (306) 953-4816 or in-person at 1211 1st Ave W. The Margo Fournier Centre will be staffed until 9:00pm tonight to register evacuees.
