Please be advised that tonight’s Emergency Shelter Consultation will now occur at the Ches Leach Lounge, located within the Art Hauser Centre. The meeting will run from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm as scheduled.
"The turnout at the last two meetings has been great, and it shows us that the community is truly invested in the conversation. We are learning and listening, and want to encourage residents to attend the final two meetings, ask their questions, and engage in the discussion," said Craig Guidinger, Director of Community Development.
This consultation is an important opportunity for community members to share their input and ideas regarding emergency shelter needs in Prince Albert. Your voice matters, and we encourage everyone to attend and contribute to this vital conversation.
Upcoming Workshops:
- Tuesday, January 21, at the Ches Leach Lounge at the Art Hauser Centre, 5:30 pm – 7:30 pm
- Thursday, January 30, at PAGC Urban Services, 5:30 pm – 7:30 pm
The workshops will include presentations from representatives from The City of Prince Albert and the YWCA and a panel of community stakeholders who can answer questions. There will also be round tables to collect feedback from participants.
An Enhanced Emergency Shelter is a 24-hour shelter for people experiencing homelessness. It provides a safe space to meet their basic needs, such as food, shelter, and hygiene. It is also a place where they can receive support with mental health and addictions and access to positive activities such as life-skills programming. The shelter's goal is to support individuals to find dignity and self-esteem and help them find long-term housing.
For those unable to attend but would like to provide input, an online survey will be prepared and available once finalized.
