City Manager Jim Toye would like to congratulate Kris Olsen on his appointment as Fire Chief for the City of Prince Albert effective October 7, 2019.
Mr. Olsen has been a member of the Prince Albert Fire Department for over 24 years and Acting Fire Chief since June of 2019. Starting as a recruit fire fighter in 1995 Chief Olsen worked his way up the ranks within the department to Captain in 2007 then onto Battalion Chief in 2016. Chief Olsen has an immense amount of knowledge and experience which will enhance the services and delivery of those services to residences.
“After an extensive search for the position of Fire Chief, we found the best candidate right from our own department,” said City Manager Jim Toye. “Kris Olsen has spent his entire 24 year career with the Prince Albert Fire Department. Kris has done an amazing job as Acting Fire Chief and his knowledge, work ethic and professional demeanor will enable him to do an excellent job as Fire Chief.”

I consider it an honour to represent the men and women of the Prince Albert Fire Department,” said Fire Chief Olsen. “My goal is to continually improve upon our service delivery through excellent customer service. This will be accomplished through continuing education, training and prevention while providing professional response to all hazard emergencies in an effective manner.”
