Prince Albert, Sk. – The City of Prince Albert is pleased to officially open the newly upgraded Carlton Park Community Club at Crescent Heights, Dunn Drive. The $160,000 upgrade was made possible through partnering with the Carlton Community Club - $30,000 and the City of Prince Albert - $130,000. The work to the Park was completed in the fall of 2022, but the grand opening was held on Thursday, September 14, 2023.
The hockey rink was converted to a basketball and pickleball court for the summer months instead of a playground. It will still be used as an outdoor hockey rink in the Winter.
“This is another great project with collaboration between the City of Prince Albert and Carlton Park Community Club, helping to enhance Sports and Recreation in our City. This will provide a space for all ages and skill levels to come and play,” says Curtis Olsen, Sport and Recreation Manager for the City of Prince Albert.
Carlton Park has been highlighted in the State of the Playgrounds report update in 2022 as a playground/park requiring immediate updating and refurbishment.
