With Family Day just around the corner, Prince Albert residents can look forward to some exciting and free activities on Monday, February 19th, 2024. This yearly celebration of family and community will offer a range of fun recreational options at certain City of Prince Albert facilities, such as the Margo Fournier Arts Centre.
Margo Fournier Arts Centre
Families can enjoy a FREE Family Story Stones drop-in activity from 2:00 PM to 3:30 PM. The Arts Centre will be open from 12:30 PM to 8:30 PM, providing ample opportunity for creativity and connection.
Alfred Jenkins Field House
Additionally, AJFH will offer free programming from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM, excluding the climbing wall/fitness centre. Activities include Free Gym Drop-In and Free Drop-In on Turf from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM. Please remember to bring indoor shoes for participation.
Skating and Swimming
Skating enthusiasts can enjoy FREE skating at the Art Hauser Centre from 1:30 PM to 3:00 PM. Meanwhile, at the Frank J. Dunn Pool, public swimming will be available from 1:30 PM to 6:00 PM, with regular admission applying.
Art Drop-In
For those with a passion for art, the Mann Art Gallery invites families to a Free Family Art Drop-In from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM, featuring mixed media and collage art. All ages are welcome, with children accompanied by an adult.
Throughout the day, families can also explore the 48th Annual Winter Festival Art Show & Sale at the Mann Art Gallery. Meanwhile, the Historical Museum will offer free admission from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM.
Outdoors, Little Red River Park will provide opportunities for tobogganing, hiking, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, and more. Additionally, outdoor skating rinks will be available at various community club rinks throughout Prince Albert.
