It is time to get out and enjoy everything our community has to see, do and be a part of! May starts off with our Community Clean-up & Pitch In Week. This is an opportunity to take away all the debris winter left behind!
Many activities are planned this month. The Art Hauser Centre will be buzzing with a concert featuring Dean Brody and a couple of circuses. St. Mary High School's production of Joseph & The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat takes the stage at the E.A Rawlinson Centre May 10th - 13th.

Let's help each other out during the Community Clean up and Pitch in Week May 8 - 13, 2023.
Groups can register to receive free pick-up bags.
There will be 3 sites around the city during the week to bring household garbage, metals, electronics, etc. to unclutter your house and yard for spring and summer!

Our Summer Program Guide is out! We have so many interesting and fun programs in May at your Arts Centre! Register for a new program like Taste of China, Indian Touch Cuisine, Beaded Strawberry Earrings, Sgraffito Scratch (pottery), Ribbon Skirt Making, and more! We also have several pottery programs and classes for youth! You can check out these and other programs and opportunities at the Arts Centre like the Groups & Guilds and Birthday Parties in our Summer Program Guide.

A new session of fitness classes are getting underway at the Alfred Jenkins Field House. New classes this spring include: Club Bell Flow HIIT, Kettlebell Flow, TRX Fusion and Kickbox & Core. See the AJFH Program Guide for all the classes offered.
The Field House also has a full schedule of Drop-In classes for those who can't commit to a regular program.
And the Jump Start Inclusive Playground at the Field House is as busy as ever! Check out the 17,000 square foot play area!

Monday, May 1st: Registration Opens for the Broadway North Youth Fall Program
The Broadway North Youth Company’s Fall Program begins September 9th and ends with a performance of Disney’s The Little Mermaid JR. Registration opens Monday, May 1st at 10am sharp, and is expected to fill up fast. The program is open to youths ages 7 to 18.

August 17th to 26th the Broadway North Theatre Company presents Richard O’Brien’s The Rocky Horror Show. In this cult classic, sweethearts Brad and Janet, stuck with a flat tire during a storm, discover the eerie mansion of Dr. Frank-N-Furter, a scientist with a few…quirks. (suggested for 18+ audiences).

Further Down the Road with Cadmus Delormes

Last November we were given the opportunity to hear from one of our nation’s most powerful voices. Cadmus Delorme will return to continue the conversation on real truth and reconciliation, and share further insights on how we move forward together.
Included in this evening will be performances by the Ironswing Singers and the Northern Prairie Dancers. MC'd by Mitch Holash.
This event is free to attend, but please secure your ticket in advance. They are available at Canadian Tire and the EA Rawlinson Centre for the Arts.

The John V. Hicks Gallery presents The Healing Journey.
This exhibition showcases the expressive art of participants in art therapy programs from SHARE, The Nest, and Acquired Brain Injury. These programs let individuals explore different kinds of art media, to help foster creativity, individuality, promote mindfulness and aide in relaxation. The process of expressive art can assist survivors to overcome many personal challenges, be a valuable tool while managing stress, and help in the healing process and rehabilitation.

This major touring exhibition focuses on Prairie textiles made between 1960-2000. Produced by Nickle Galleries, University of Calgary and the MacKenzie Art Gallery. Prairie Interlace historically situates and elucidates the unique contributions of Prairie fibre artists. The exhibition includes works in the Mann Art Gallery Permanent Collection.

Creative Kids is a charitable program that funds Saskatchewan children who want to take music or dance lessons, learn to paint or act, speak a family language, explore different cultures, find out about their heritage, study dinosaur bones, or join a number of other creative pursuits in their community. Creative Kids funds arts, heritage, multicultural and Aboriginal activities for families facing financial barriers.
