The City of Prince Albert is excited to announce the return of the Little Red Transit Route on May 4, 2024. The route will provide convenient transportation to Little Red River Park and its amenities for residents and visitors.
Beginning on May 4th and running through August 24th, the Little Red Transit Route will operate half-hourly on weekdays and Saturdays, offering expanded access to the park's upgraded playground, hiking trails, and other recreational facilities. It will run directly from the Transfer Station to Little Red River Park, with stops near key attractions such as the new Rotary Adventure Park and Zip Lines on the South Side of the Park, and Knotty Pines Bistro, Ski Hill, and Hiking Trails on the North Side of the Park.
Little Red Transit Route Schedule:
- Monday-Friday: 11:45 am to 7:45 pm
- Saturdays: 9:45 am to 5:15 pm
"We are thrilled to reintroduce the Little Red Transit Route to allow residents and visitors to enjoy all the new upgrades in the Park. The new Rotary Adventure Park will be open this summer, and we would like to give everyone the opportunity to enjoy it,” says Mayor Greg Dionne.
The Rotary Adventure Park and the Warm-Up venues are the newest additions to Little Red. With an investment of over $1.2 million, this extraordinary project has been made possible by the collective efforts and generosity of various contributors:
- The Rotary Club fundraising contributed over $500,000,
- Malcolm Jenkins Family Foundation donated $400,000,
- The City of Prince Albert contributed over $280,000.
Another transit update is that the East Flat #2 transit route will be discontinued immediately. This route will resume when school starts again in the fall.
