The seasons have now turned and November is a great month to visit City of Prince Albert facilities. The Arts Centre is bustling with classes, programming is ramping back up at the Alfred Jenkins Field House, there are swimming lessons at the Frank J. Dunn Pool and of course the E.A. Rawlinson Centre for the Arts and Mann Art Gallery have great shows and exhibits.
A reminder as we pause to remember on Wednesday, November 11th, all City of Prince Albert recreation facilities are closed for Remembrance Day.

The City of Prince Albert continues to follow the Saskatchewan Re-Open Plan for our facilities. As always, we want to remind you to follow all safety precautions as we continue to help prevent the spread of COVID-19.

Search For The Stars Audition Registration Deadline: Thursday, November 5th
Search For The Stars is Prince Albert’s foremost annual youth talent competition, bringing together up and coming performers aged 8 to 18. Participants audition to secure a spot, attend an entire day of workshops hosted by industry professionals, and then perform in a live show to win prizes. Auditions will take place Sunday, November 8th, but all hopefuls must be registered by 5pm on November 5th.
Come skate in November! Ice Rentals for Art Hauser Centre, Kinsmen arenas and Dave G. Steuart Arena being accepted!
There are a number of free and public skating session this month. Note that due to Covid-19 Regulations walk-up and drop-ins are not allowed . Everyone must pre-register online or call 306-953-4848.
Every Monday, new free & public skating sessions will be available for booking.
The newly renovated John M. Cuelenaere branch of the Prince Albert Public Library is now open for regular Fall/Winter hours.
Bernice Sayese Centre and Saskatchewan Polytechnic locations will reopen at a later date.
The library is coordinating its pandemic response with other city facilities. Some services are affected:
1) Public computers will not be available.
2) Public Seating will be kept to a minimum.
3) Building occupancy will be limited to 50 members of the public.
4) Members of the public entering the building will have their temperature taken.
5) Public washrooms will not be available.
6) Meeting rooms and the theatre will be made available later.
7) Library programs will commence later.
8) Members of the public are encouraged to wear masks while visiting the library.
9) Members of the public are encouraged to keep their visits as short as possible.

We have some great programs starting this month including Beginner Wheel (Pottery), Next Level Wheel (Pottery), Virtual and In Person Painting, Virtual Cooking, Yoga, and Kids’ classes including Wonder of the Wheel (Pottery), Anime III, Sewing, and Painting. Check out our Fall Program Guide to see all of the arts and culture programs this month! Please note that during this time of caution with the COVID-19 pandemic and for everyone’s safety, the class sizes are likely smaller. We are excited to welcome you or welcome you back! Register online or at the Arts Centre at 1010 Central Avenue.
Aquasize, lane swimming and public swimming all must be pre-booked online.
-Registration for aquasize, lane swimming and public swimming is now availablefor sessions up to November 14.
-You can register for sessions from November 15-28 starting November 9.

Eekwol: Saturday, November 7th - 7:30pm
Eekwol (Lindsay Knight) is an award-winning hip hop performing artist from Saskatoon. Treaty Six Territory, originally from Muskoday First Nation. Eekwol has been making music for many years.
Eekwol uses her music and words to spread messages of resistance, revolution and keeping the language, land and culture alive for the next generations. Through her original sound she displays her activist roots by living and creating as a supporter of both Hip Hop and Indigenous culture and rights.
This show at the E.A. Rawlinson Centre for the Arts is made possible in part by the Government of Canada.
The Bromantics: Friday, November 13th - 7:30pm
Formed in the summer of 2013, The Bromantics are a Saskatchewan six piece that perform a sensational tribute to the 50s. They also perform original music following similar chord progressions, while working within the parameters of the genre. In making use of warm brass instruments in combination with vintage guitar tones, and accompanying them alongside doo-wop style harmonies, The Bromantics are reviving the era with a youthful energy.
They have recorded live sessions through Blue Door Studios, and in collaboration with Nyshe Media have released several videos that encompass exactly how they look and sound live. The Bromantics have been performing consistently since they formed and are only gaining more notice.

JJ Voss & A Damn Good Band: Friday, November 20th - 7:30pm
After eight months of playing online, live streaming solo shows, JJ Voss will be reuniting with his ‘Damn Good Band’ for a number of Saskatchewan tour dates. Drummer/percussionist/vocalist Jayson Brinkworth and bassist/vocalist Brian Kelly have been working with Voss on and off over the past 17 years, both in the recording studio and on the road. Years of being on stage together has created a chemistry and friendship that only comes with experience.
With close to two decades of dedication to his music career and craft, JJ Voss has taken his passion for songwriting and performing, along with his many experiences in life, to build an authentic heartfelt solo career rooted in the soil of the working class.

The Alfred Jenkins Field House is open 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. weekdays and 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. weekends.
The Field House is once again bustling with activity! Programs are available and filling quickly. Also, the Field House has a great line up of Drop-In programs for November.
Don't forget about gymnasium rentals. The Broda Family Fitness Centre and B & B Walking Track also are available.

The Mann Art Gallery, along with the Prince Albert Council for the Arts, is hosting a small, curated Pop-Up Artisan Market. There will be up to 15 vendors/booths featuring juried hand-made items.
Historical Museum
The Historical Museum is open Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Other museum tours can be arranged by appointment. Call us at 306-764-2992.

Kyla Art Group 42nd Art Show & Sale – Virtual Edition
November 29 to December 9
Due to Covid-19 restrictions. we felt that we could not realistically display our show in the safe and fun manner our patrons expect. Therefore, we are sharing an online edition of our fall show. See our website for info on this great fundraiser for the Prince Albert Optimist Club.

Studio 1010: Members Annual Exhibition
Studio 1010 is a group of artists that meet Monday afternoons at the Arts Centre to work on their art pieces. They share ideas, techniques and socialize. There is no criteria in terms of skill level or subject matter and new members are always welcome. The show is a display of watercolor, acrylic, oil, and pastel.
The City of Prince Albert offers many FREE programs and events throughout the facilities each month.

Come out and enjoy our art show and sale with free admission! The Aurora Art Show & Sale will follow COVID guidelines: limited participants at a time and social distancing monitored by the group.
Creative Kids is a charitable program that funds Saskatchewan children who want to take music or dance lessons, learn to paint or act, speak a family language, explore different cultures, find out about their heritage, study dinosaur bones, or join a number of other creative pursuits in their community. Creative Kids funds arts, heritage, multicultural and Aboriginal activities for families facing financial barriers. The next Creative Kids deadline is December 4.
