The City of Prince Albert would like residents and visitors to be aware that starting Tuesday, May 19, 2020, the City of Prince Albert will be reinstating issuing parking tickets at expired downtown meters and at timed residential parking zones. These measures were temporarily suspended in the early days of the COVID-19 response as non-essential business was shut down in the City.
As businesses have started to re-open, there has been more traffic and parking in the downtown
“We are starting to get feedback that people are staying parked outside businesses all day which impedes their ability to keep stalls open for those that are doing curbside pick-up,” said Mayor Greg Dionne. “Parking meters are designed to keep vehicles moving so these spaces are available. Demand is going to grow as more businesses open up so the timing is right to move on this now.”
