Alex Crawley |
Alex CrawleyMy name is Alex, and I’m a pharmacist who has lived in Prince Albert since 2015. I work on reserve at the Sturgeon Lake Health Centre as a primary care pharmacist. I also manage a continuing education program for health care professionals called RxFiles Academic Detailing, through the University of Saskatchewan. In 2019 I was named the Pharmacist of the Year in Saskatchewan. I have a great passion for education – both of my parents were school teachers! – and I want to help build the best possible public school system for our children, including my 5-year-old son who started Kindergarten this year. I would like our public schools to be the very best they can be. I’ve served in leadership roles on many professional committees and boards, including the Pharmacy Association of Saskatchewan, the Canadian Society of Hospital Pharmacists, the Prince Albert Music Festival, and the Prince Albert Ski Club. I take pride in my ability to work well with people who have different viewpoints from me, seeking compromise and finding common ground. I currently manage a budget of over a million dollars per year with the University, and I look forward to bringing that fiscal experience to the school board. I also have experience working with diverse populations with differing needs, which I view as another asset to the board. I hope to have your support in advocating for and improving public education. Sincerely yours, Contact |

Shayne Morley |
Shayne MorleyMy name is Shayne Morley, and I am running for the position of School Board Trustee in the upcoming in-city election for Saskatchewan Rivers Public School Division. Proudly raised and educated in the public school system, and a graduate of W.P. Sandin High School, I have spent the past 36 years living and working in Prince Albert. Employed with the Ministry of Corrections, Policing and Public Safety I have gained a deep understanding of our community's needs. This perspective is further enriched by my family of educators who have provided me with valuable insights into the importance of teaching and the challenges faced in today’s schools and classrooms. If elected as a school board trustee, I look forward to drawing on my background in labor relations and municipal government to advocate for equitable funding and policies that benefit both students and educators. My experiences working with various boards and associations have highlighted the importance of community engagement and collaboration among all stakeholders; therefore ensuring that every voice is valued and heard. Committed to strong governance and effective problem-solving, I aim to represent the diverse needs of our students and community. Additionally, my time as a volunteer has deepened my appreciation for the role of community involvement and mentorship in fostering growth and success in our youth. I respectfully ask for your support on November 13, as I am committed to advocate for education with a strong emphasis on integrity and commitment. Sincerely, Contact |

Mira Lewis |
Mira LewisAs a mom of a neuro-divergent kid who’s one of the most interesting people anyone could ever meet but also one of the hardest to reach, I have been through it all with the education system. The experiences were often amazing but occasionally devastating. They all taught me how much education workers care, how hard they work and how tied their hands can be. As a labour advocate I know how desperate the situation in our schools is. Budget cut after budget cut has left our classrooms understaffed and overpopulated. Frontline school workers must turn very little into magic while also being pulled into impossible situations by tone-deaf legislation. Even though schools seem to get more and more hectic, the Saskatchewan Rivers community has nonetheless made it its mission to create culturally welcoming spaces, to embrace and support all abilities and to find success in an increasingly complex environment. I believe that if our kids are to be successful than school boards need to prioritize smaller classes and frontline staff. Our kids cannot thrive in underfunded schools staffed by stressed, overworked, underappreciated and underpaid teachers, support staff, councilors, etc. If elected I plan to be a student of past successes; to be open and responsive to criticism; to use my experiences as a parent and labour advocate to fight to untie the hands that wish to serve; to ensure funds are directed where they're needed most; and to always make myself available. Humbly yours, Contact |
Tim Yeaman |
Tim YeamanI live, work, and reside here in the beautiful City of Prince Albert, my daughters have gone to school here and I am enthusiastic about bringing the best to everything I do while living here. I continue to work with the greatest of integrity in my position as Parks and Open Spaces Manager within the City of Prince Albert. The opportunity to make and be involved in generational change starts with myself. How I serve, how I communicate, how I treat others, is a direct reflection and commitment to our schools and our teachers while recognizing more than ever the need for strong leadership and a voice that is not afraid to be heard on some of the toughest challenges facing schools and teachers today. The ability to bring outside the box thinking, integral partnerships that enhance and build on what teachers are doing well already with the opportunity to provide additional supports to enhance the future of teaching in our district is crucial to success moving forward. Given the opportunity to serve as a School Board Trustee I plan to set my sights and to be a positive voice in creating legacy changing moments that enhance our school district, bring about meaningful change and supports for the students and teachers alike and to act with integrity and honesty in all that I do. Our students and teachers deserve the absolute best, they deserve to be heard, supported and for that I am deeply committed to giving my absolute best. Contact |
Barry Hollick |
Barry HollickI am seeking re-election to the Public School Board. I am doing this with the encouragement and support of my fellow trustees. My educational background and experience are viewed as valuable assets that enable me to meaningfully contribute to the ongoing success of our school division. I have been a lifelong resident of Prince Albert and I have had a lengthy association with our Public School system – as a student, as a teacher, and presently as a trustee. Having attended the University of Saskatchewan, I received my B.A., B.Ed., and M.Ed. degrees. During my career I have acquired valuable experience through my involvement in educational organizations. Locally, I served as President of the PA Teachers’ Association; provincially, I served as a Councillor with the Saskatchewan Teachers’ Federation; and nationally, I served as a Children’s Advocate for the Canadian Teachers’ Federation. I also served as a member of the University of Saskatchewan Senate for six years These were all valuable experiences for me as a trustee. I was honored to serve as our Board Chair for eleven years. During that time our Board won the Premiers’ Award for Excellence and Innovation for promoting student trusteeship and Student Voice. I will continue to advocate for additional funding for vulnerable students. Our Board is very proud of our staff and administration which is second to none. Daphne Masih |
Daphne MasihPrince Albert is my home, where I have been a dedicated community member working for the best for our community, leading with honour and integrity. My position at Communities Building Youth Futures has allowed me to work toward the removal of barriers for youth in the areas of education and employment where we continue to create youth-focused opportunities. I am honoured to serve on the PA Food Bank Board, Community Networking Coalition Steering Committee, Inter-Agency Youth Working Group, Municipal Cultural Action Plan Working Group, and the Heart of the Youth Community Powwow Committee. I hold a B.Sc. in Psychology focusing on human development into emerging adulthood, and an M.Div. focusing on Leadership. My personal experiences in such diverse areas of study and work have allowed me to see the dramatically different impact that one decision can have on people with differing experiences, backgrounds, and life events. I hope to bring a holistic view, essential partnerships, and continued support to work already being done. My five children attend within the school division, where I hope to see them thrive with their peers, teachers, and other staff. It is my firm belief that youth are not simply future leaders, but that they are the leaders of today wherever they are. It is my hope that, should I be elected to serve as School Trustee, that I would be part of positively impacting the present and future of our students and staff, and creating lasting legacy that our community can proudly carry forward. Separate School Division - ACCLAIMED
The following Candidates are running for election in the Prince Albert Roman Catholic Separate School Division.
Six (6) trustees are appointed at-large.
Patrick Hordyski |
Patrick HordyskiI am pleased to announce my candidacy for a fourth term with the Prince Albert Catholic School Division. I’ve used my 24 years of experience working as a Building Maintenance Technician with SGI to contribute insights as an active and engaged trustee, including serving on the finance committee and as vice chair of the board. I take pride in our accomplishments such as balancing the budget and our division achieving one of the best on-time graduation rates in the province, especially for our First Nations students. Over 11 years at École St. Mary School, our 3-year graduation rates exceed the provincial average by 5 per cent for non-indigenous students, and 14 per cent for self-declared First Nation and Métis students. Our 5-year graduation rates show a similar trend of 5 per cent with our non-indigenous students and 19 per cent with those who self-identify higher than the provincial average. I also am passionate about supporting student success in extracurricular activities. Notably, this past year École St. Mary High School’s boys and girls’ volleyball teams both won gold at the 5A SHAA provincial tournaments, last achieved 40 years ago. I believe schools are the foundation of our communities, providing environments where students thrive academically, spiritually, and socially. I am committed to continuing to contribute in meaningful ways, and ask for your vote in the upcoming election so I may continue serving on a board that champions Catholic values and fosters excellence in our schools. |
