The following chart outlines the rates for all election workers, including the training time at a flat rate of $40 per session. Reimbursement for mileage claims relating to supervisory, mobile and special poll workers will be approved at a rate of $0.5496 per km.

Training Required | ||||||||||||||||
All workers are required to attend one (1) training session lasting approximately three (3) hours, on a specified date at a specified location. Supervisory Deputy Returning Officers may be required to attend another training session. |

Request to work with a friend/family member | ||||||||||||||||
You can indicate your preference on the application form and the Returning Officer will try to accommodate your request. However, we cannot guarantee that you will be placed in your polling area or with your friend/family member. The Returning Officer and all election officials have an obligation to ensure the election process is not compromised in any way. Therefore, the Returning Officer may use her discretion to ensure that the appropriate workers are assigned to the appropriate positions and polling places. | ||||||||||||||||
Successful Candidates | ||||||||||||||||
You will be notified if you have been selected as a successful applicant as an election worker. Hiring priority will be given to suitable persons who have prior electoral experience, and meet the required qualifications. If you are selected as a successful applicant, the Returning Office will notify you of the time for the required training session(s) and any other necessary details. Email is the preferred method of communication. It is expected successful applicants will be notified by late September. |
