Playground Program

 2019 Playground Program

Every summer, children 6 to 12 years of age are invited to take part in a fun-filled summer of FREE activities at 10 different playground locations throughout the City. Each playground is staffed by two qualified and trained playground supervisors. The 2019 dates are July 2 to August 16.

The summer’s seven-week playground program includes cooperative games, crafts, songs, stories, sports and much more. Activities focus on a different theme every week, and special events are also planned "off the playgrounds" for all kids to enjoy.

The program also offers free of charge a summer sports program, an arts program and a cultural program. Specialized play leaders travel from playground to playground offering the children different sporting and craft activities.

Special events include KidzFest Thursday, July 18th from 1-5 p.m. in Kinsmen Park and the Outdoor Day Camp Thursday, August 8th in Little Red River Park.

The Playground Program is supported by the Community Initiatives Fund, Canada Summer Jobs and Saskatchewan Lotteries.

The hours of operation for the playground programs are as follows:

Every year, the City of Prince Albert Playground Program receives a large quantity of recyclables which are used for arts and craft projects on the playgrounds over the summer.  Your continued help in donating the following clean recycled items (and other great odds and ends) are greatly appreciated.  However, we ask that you be selective; please don't clean out your basement!

  • Paper towel rolls
  • Buttons/beads/string
  • Scraps of fabric
  • Plastic containers
  • Plastic 4-litre containers (washed/rinsed)
  • Wrapping paper
  • Egg Cartons

Please deliver items to:

Margo Fournier Centre

Donations are accepted from March 1st to June 30th each year.
