Prince Albert City Council sets initiatives and directives for the City in the Strategic Plan for 2023-25. In this plan one of the long-term strategies of the the City of Prince Albert is to STRIVE to meet the needs of transit users. Each year the Department of Public Works applies for various grants and funding to improve Transit infrastructure, fleet, accessibility and services.
On December 20th, 2022, the City of Prince Albert was approved for $415,038 of transit funding in the "One-Time Public Transit Funding Agreement 2022-23".
Prince Albert Transit is excited for the projects in 2023. These projects include 11 new transit benches, 4 new transit shelters, new transit pads, improvements to accessibility and connectivity of pathways at transit stops. As the summer progresses, updates will be made showcasing the improvements throughout the City.
