Household Hazardous Waste Collection Day

To ensure residents have an opportunity to safely dispose of their Household Hazardous Waste the City of Prince Albert will be hosting a Household Hazardous Waste Day where residents can bring in their items for free.

Saturday, September 14, 2019 - 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Household hazardous waste includes many items that people are storing in their basements, garages, kitchens or bathrooms and can include anything from drain cleaner to florescent tubes. Hazardous items are often toxic or flammable which means extra care should be taken when disposing of them.

Items to be accepted (but not limited to):

Adhesives, Aerosols, Automotive Batteries, Cleaners, Corrosives, Fuels, Mercury Oxidizers, Poison, Pharmaceuticals, Solvents etc.


Whenever possible, please keep the labels on the materials you are bringing in. This helps to identify the substances and avoids the need for testing substances so they are properly identified and disposed of.

Used oil, oil filters, & containers, propane cylinders and tires – take to Prince Albert Landfill
Propane Tanks - take to Prince Albert Landfill

Other hazardous waste products excluded:

Biological, infectious, radioactive, explosive, ammunition and industrial waste.

Hazardous Waste Disposal for Commercial Operations

Businesses in Prince Albert that use or produce hazardous waste as part of their operation, need to make their own arrangements to dispose of the material appropriately. Businesses are encouraged to contact GFL Environmental for more information.
