The Frank J. Dunn Pool offers a full range of swimming lessons for children, youth and adults; lane swimming; public swimming and aquacise classes. Please refer to the FJD monthly schedule below for dates and times for public swimming, lane swimming and aquacise classes. Detailed information about swimming lessons and advanced programs is available via the links below or by calling the pool office at 306.953.4829 after 6:30 p.m. on weekdays or after 1:00 p.m. on weekends. The Frank J. Dunn Swimming Pool, located at Carlton Comprehensive High School (28th Street and 6th Avenue East ) is jointly operated by the City of Prince Albert and the Saskatchewan Rivers School Division #119. The pool is equipped with a five-lane 25 metre pool, ranging in depth from 3.5 to 4.5 feet, and a separate diving tank with one- and three-metre diving boards.

The facility offers the following programs:

  • A full range of Lifesaving Society classes for children and youth
  • Adult swimming lessons
  • Specialized exercise classes (Aquacise)
  • Public swim times
  • Adult lane swimming

Safety Precautions
The Frank J. Dunn Pool is staffed with trained National Lifeguards so that your day at the pool will be safe and enjoyable.

Mandatory Adult Supervision of Children 8 Years and Under
All children under the age of eight MUST be accompanied by an adult in the water at all times.

Get a high school credit when you become a life guard.As of August 1, 2016, the Lifesaving Society will provide documentation for a 30l high school credit when you complete one of their courses!
Lifesaving Society's Canadian Swim PatrolFor swimmers aged 8-12 who are eager to develop their swimming and lifesaving skills. This is a great start to become a lifeguard! Check out Canadian Swim Patrol-Rookie Patrol & Ranger/Star Patrol as well as Bronze Star all starting in September, 2017.
