Municipal Heritage Sites

The City recognizes the importance of commemorating and protecting significant heritage and historical buildings and sites. Over the years, buildings have been designated as heritage properties through the adoption of bylaws in accordance with the Heritage Property Act.

Municipal Heritage Awards

The City of Prince Albert, through its Museums and Heritage Advisory Committee, recognizes heritage work in Prince Albert through the presentation of a Municipal Heritage award.

This award recognizes excellence in project or buildings that provide outstanding heritage value to the City of Prince Albert.

The following criteria are considered in selecting a recipient for the award:

  1. Restoration - Interior
  2. Restoration - Exterior
  3. Rehabilitation
  4. New Design - Sensitive Infill
  5. New Design - Sensitive Addition
  6. Heritage Open Space
Municipal Heritage Award Guidelines and Nomination Form - Deadline September 30
To nominate a project, review the guidelines and complete the nomination form. Copies of the nomination form are also available in the Community Services Department which is located on the third floor of City Hall. The deadline for nominations is September 30th annually.
