Recycling at the Landfill

The City has set a goal to recycle 60% of the waste generated in Prince Albert by the year 2025. With tin and aluminum cans, plastic soda and water bottles and household plastic containers (recycling arrows with number 1 through 7) added to the items being diverted from the landfill, our objective for sustainable landfill use will be strengthened.

Blue Bins - Beautiful City! Together with our recycling partners, conscientious residents and businesses, we hope to surpass this goal and be a leader among comparable municipalities working to reduce, recycle and reuse.

In addition to the blue bin paper, can and plastic bottle and container recycling program, the landfill has an area set aside for other recyclable or reusable items. These include:

  • Propane Cylinders
  • Used Oil
  • Batteries
  • Tires
  • Trees and Shrubs
  • Scrap Metal and Appliances
  • Asphalt & Concrete
  • Yard Waste
  • Paper and Cardboard

Reusable lumber can be taken to the Habitat for Humanity ReStore at 911 Marquis Road.
