Recycling and Disposal of Batteries

There are two locations to drop off batteries in Prince Albert:

Prince Albert Landfill
A public station has been set up at the Prince Albert Landfill for the collection and disposal of batteries.

Residents are encouraged to bring the following items free of charge:

  1. Dry Cell Batteries - includes both single-use and rechargeable nickel cadmium, nickel hydride, alkaline, lithium ion, mercury silver oxide and metal button batteries.
  2. Wet Cell Lead Acid Batteries - includes only vehicle batteries.

City Hall (1084 Central Avenue)
AA, AAA and D batteries are collected at the Public Works office on the third floor.

This is an opportunity for the City to keep batteries from entering the landfill and is a long-term benefit to the City as it reduces the quantity of leachable heavy metals that could result in a negative environmental impact.

**Both SARCAN Prince Albert Locations (44 North Industrial Drive and 4340 5th Avenue East) can take end-of-life electronic products. For a list of accepted products please refer to https://www.recyclemyelectronics.ca/sk
