The City of Prince Albert’s sanitary landfill, located just north of the city limits (see map below) is one of the most modern and environmentally sound landfills in all of Canada. Waste is transported to the disposal cell which has an impermeable liner that prevents any contaminated water from entering the groundwater system.

See our handy flyer here for landfill and recycling information.

Secure Loads
All loads must be secured when hauling waste to the landfill. Failure to comply will result in an additional charge.

Cardboard Ban at the Landfill
In an effort to limit the amount of recyclable material going to the landfill, a fine for cardboard recycling is being considered by City Council on November 9. Please click here for more details.

Waste NOT accepted at the landfill
Please be advised that the city will not accept the following wastes:

  • Household Hazardous Wastes
  • Anti-freeze
  • Paint and Spray Paint Cans
  • Fuels

From time to time the City hosts a Household Hazardous Waste day for collection of these materials.
