Draft New Zoning Bylaw 2019
Through Bylaw No. 1 of 2019, the City of Prince Albert will be adopting a new Zoning Bylaw in accordance with the Planning and Development Act and the Statements of Provincial Interest Regulations. A Zoning Bylaw is necessary as it controls the use of land for providing for the amenity of the area within council’s jurisdiction, and for the health, safety and general welfare of the inhabitants of the City of Prince Albert.  

Zoning Bylaw
The zoning bylaw sets out the land uses permitted in each zone. It also regulates building location, size and height as well as parking and landscaped areas.

If you are planning a commercial or industrial project it is very important that you receive City approval prior to the start of your project, as not all types of businesses are allowed in all areas of the city.

Development Permits
The City of Prince Albert’s Zoning Bylaw requires a Development Permit for developments which include the construction of a new building, an addition to an existing building or a change of use of a building or site.

Bylaw Enforcement
