The West Hill Master Plan (WHMP) was prepared by UMA Engineering Ltd. in 1999. The WHMP is intended to provide an overall framework for development within the southwest quadrant of the City of Prince Albert in an orderly and economical manner. The WHMP addresses a number of key issues such as: cost of providing on-site and off-site services, development phases, development of West Hill in relation with other areas in the City, land owners interest and density and servicing.
In May 2012, an updated Master Plan was released that takes into account changes that have occurred since 1999. Most notably, the plan considers the underground infrastructure upgrades that were completed in 2010 on 28th Street West and the New Alfred Jenkins Fieldhouse that opened in 2011. Below is a link to both the 1999 study and the updated plan. The 2012 study represents one of two options that will be prepared. The second option will include consideration of land dedicated to medium and heavy industrial zones. Once the second option is available, the City of Prince Albert will be hosting stakeholder meetings with residents and landowners to review the options before it is presented for approval by City Council.
