 Civic and School Board Elections

Introduction

Elections for City of Prince Albert City Council, Roman Catholic Separate School Division No. 6 School Board and Saskatchewan Rivers School Division No. 119 School Board occur every three (3) years.  As each Election and By-Election approaches, this webpage will be updated to provide you with the most up-to-date information you require to understand the election process and how to become a candidate for one of the following:

  • Mayor
  • Eight (8) Councilors
  • Six (6) Separate School Board Members - In-City Subdivision
  • Five (5) Public School Board Members - In-City Subdivision.

The next general Civic and School Board elections will be held in October 2012.

Civic government is involved in many aspects of our daily lives – from providing public transit, drinking water, garbage collection and road maintenance to supporting a variety of community programs including recreational activities as well as policing and protecting the citizens of the City.

Voting is a fundamental right of democratic. You are encouraged to participate in Civic and School Board Elections.  Your vote will help select local representatives who will make the laws and policies that determine how our City functions and how we live together.
