Fire Ban LIFTED for Little Red River Park and Properties North of the River

Please be advised that the fire ban for areas within the City of Prince Albert north of the North Saskatchewan River has been lifted. This includes Little Red River Park and the Hazeldell and Nordale residential areas.

Fire Ban Declared for Little Red River Park and all residential property north of the Saskatchewan River

Due to dry conditions currently experienced in the area, the City of Prince Albert has implemented a fire ban in the Little Red River Park and to all residential property north of the Saskatchewan River effective immediately. Open fires will be prohibited until further notice. This also applies to fireworks within these areas. Properly maintained fuel gas appliances are still permitted.

Due to the Fire Weather Index current and predicted ‘Extreme’ conditions rating for the grasslands and forest fringe area , a fire ban has been declared for areas north of the North Saskatchewan River within the boundaries of the City of Prince Albert including Little Red River Park and the Hazeldell and Nordale residential areas.

Little Red River Park Re-Opens Full Access

Prince Albert, Sk. – The water in Little Red River Park has receded and the park is now open to the general public from Highway 55. Over the weekend the water from the river spilled over the roadway, resulting in the eastern access from Highway 55 being closed. It is now open from both the east and west entry points.

Prince Albert, SK. - The Prince Albert Fire Department would like to advise the public that controlled burns will be taking place at various locations throughout the City and in Little Red River Park this week.

Access to Little Red River Park Modified

Prince Albert Sk - Due to high water levels, there will be no vehicle access from the east to Little Red River Park until further notice as water from the river is encroaching on the roadway in certain portions. Access to Little Red River Park will be allowed the west only, with vehicles not allowed past the bridge before the Cosmopolitan Lodge. The access from Highway 55 will be re-opened once the water recedes and it is safe. A further update will be provided Monday.
