Fire Ban Declared for Little Red River Park and all residential property north of the Saskatchewan River

Due to extreme wildfire potential conditions currently experienced in the area, the City of Prince Albert has implemented a fire ban in the Little Red River Park and to all residential property north of the Saskatchewan River effective immediately.

Fire ban lifted for Little Red Park, City of Prince Albert

Based upon recent cooler weather and precipitation received, fire risk has diminished and the fire ban has been lifted for Little Red River Park and all properties north of the N. Sask River (within the City of Prince Albert).

The public is asked to continue to exercise discretion, caution and due diligence when enjoying recreational / cooking fires within the Park and the City of Prince Albert, as fires can develop and spread rapidly resulting in significant risk to safety, property and the environment. Use fires responsible to ensure the amenities we enjoy today remain for tomorrow.

As a result, no fire bans currently exist within the City of Prince Albert.  Any recreational fires within the City of Prince Albert are governed by the provisions set forth in Bylaw 22 of 2008.  Fires occurring outside the provisions of this Bylaw are prohibited and will be extinguished if reported.

Fire Ban for Little Red River Park and properties north of the River - Including Hazeldell and Nordale Residential Areas

Due to the current and predicted Forest Fringe Fire Hazard ‘Extreme’ conditions, a fire ban has been declared for Little Red Park and any dwellings north of the North Saskatchewan River in the City of Prince Albert limits. These neighbourhoods include the Hazeldell and Nordale residential areas.

Fire ban lifted for Little Red River Park

Based upon the accumulated rainfall experienced this week (over 20 millimeters) and the cooler future forecast, fire risk has diminished and the fire ban has been lifted for Little Red River Park.
