The Prince Albert Fire Department has added a new rescue boat and trailer to its equipment fleet. The new rescue boat is custom built specifically for use on the North Saskatchewan River. It has additional hull protection, a jet drive allowing for operations in shallow water and the bow section was specifically designed with a rescue deck to facilitate rescue work.
“This boat will allow us to access all areas of the river within our jurisdiction and to do it faster than what was possible with the old inflatable rescue boat,” said Kris Olsen, Acting Fire Chief for the City of Prince Albert.
