Mayor Greg Dionne was on location at the North East corner of 2nd Avenue West and 15th Street to make a third and final announcement as part of the new Husky Energy and the City of Prince Albert three year partnership for community enhancement projects in the city.
“The City of Prince Albert will be installing a double sided digital billboard at this location for the exclusive use of the City of Prince Albert with priority given to the EA Rawlinson Centre for the Arts,” said Mayor Dionne. “This is an exciting project for the City of Prince Albert. This billboard has been talked about for years. The billboard will serve as both a welcome sign and also as a tool we can use to promote our services, events and activities to visitors and residents.”
With just over 22,000 north and southbound vehicle trips through the 2nd Ave West and 15th Street location each day, it is one of the busiest intersections in the City not including the heaviest traffic months in the summer when the intersection accommodates traffic heading to and from the lakes in the North.
“This marks a close to the three location announcements that comprise the new partnership between the City and Husky Energy,” said Mayor Dionne. “Thank-you to the media for attending, Husky Energy for their partnership, Jim Toye, City Manager, Mitch Holash, City Solicitor and all city staff that provided support to make this a reality.”
