PA Transit – New rates, New routes, New extended hours beginning September 5
Buses running longer hours, more efficient routes, $25 select monthly passes
This fall ride the bus with PA Transit – ‘It’s The Way To Go’ with new routes, new rates and extended hours in time for the new school year.
Starting September 5, PA Transit has new extended transit hours until 11:15 p.m. Monday to Saturday. Previously bus routes only ran until 7 p.m. The extended hours are a part of a four month pilot project by the City to encourage increased usage of the transit system.
This past spring, the City of Prince Albert also implemented new $25 monthly passes for seniors, students and children – make transit a more affordable option for residents.
Public consultations were also held on several dates and locations in 2017, along with an interactive online map to gather feedback from the public on proposed route changes.
The route changes have now been approved by City Council and will come into effect September 5. There are 140 stops along six routes, with the routes streamlined to go to high traffic areas, said Transportation Manager Keri Sapsford. “Areas such as major malls and shopping districts and express routes along 15th Avenue make going to work, school, shopping or your next medical appointment easy with PA Transit,” added Sapsford.
Residents can visit www.citypa.ca/residents/transit to use the Google Transit tool to map out their routes and access the new Transit brochure with routes and hours information.
