Prince Albert, Sk. – National Drowning Prevention Week is July 16-22 and the staff at Kinsmen Water Park have put together a full slate of activities from Monday to Friday that week. Through the Lifesaving Society of Saskatchewan, activities and events are aimed at drowning prevention, not only in pools but also in open water like the many lakes in Saskatchewan.
A full slate of activities are planned daily at the Kinsmen Water Park including the popular “Dress Like A Lifeguard” activity, face painting, WaterSmart Colouring and Informational Posters. Each day there is a different theme including Lifesaving Sport, Sun Smart Education, Open Water Safety, Swim with a Buddy and Canadian Drowning Report.

2:00pm Lifeguard Distressed Non-Swimmer Demonstration
2:15pm – 2:45pm “Dress Like a Lifeguard” Activity (Under 8yrs)

3:15pm – 3:45pm Lifeguard Relay (Over 8yrs)
“Drip, Drop, Splash!” Game (Under 8yrs)
4:00pm Lifeguard Distressed Non-Swimmer Demonstration
4:15pm – 4:45pm Swim to Survive Challenge (All ages)
5:15pm Lifeguard Spinal Demonstration
6:00pm – 6:30pm Soak the Lifeguard Trivia Game
