2015 National Building Code to be Adopted July 1, 2017

As of July 1, 2017  the province of Saskatchewan will be adopting the 2015 edition of the National Building Code. Those who are building or renovating in the City are encouraged to take note of the changes and pick up an information package created by the City of Prince Albert Building Department. 

Prior to July 1, 2017 - Building permit applications that have been submitted with a full set of plans prior to July 1, 2017 will be considered in process and will be assessed under the 2010 National Building Code.

On or after July 1, 2017 – Building permit applications or plans received on or after July 1st will be assessed under the provisions of the 2015 National Building Code.

Information packages outline some of the more significant changes and are available:

·         For pick-up at the front counter of the Planning and Development Services Department, Third Floor City Hall
