Road Closure - 9 Avenue West & 15 Street West

Road Closures

What: Intersection of 9th Avenue West and 15th Street West will be closed for north and southbound traffic. 15th Street West will accommodate two-way traffic on the south side.

Where: 9th Avenue West & 15th Street

When:  Wednesday, May 24 at 7 a.m. until Friday, May 26 noon.

Why: Sanitary Trunk Main Inspection

Motorists are reminded to use caution and reduce speed.

Weekly Garbage Collection begins June 1, 2017

The Public Works Department would like to remind residents that weekly garbage collection begins June 1, 2017, as opposed to bi-weekly pick-up in the winter.  The blue recycle container will continue to be picked up bi-weekly.

Residents are advised to refer to their collection calendar for pickup dates.  Collection calendars were delivered to each household in December and are also available on the City website at www.citypa.ca, through the Public Works Department, 3rd Floor, City Hall or by calling 953-4900.

Residents should call the Public Works Department at 953-4900 if they have any questions regarding garbage, recycling or yard waste collection.

Library Parking Lot closed Tuesday May 23

Where: 125 – 12 Street East

When:  Starting Tuesday, May 23 at 7:30 a.m. weather permitting, completed Friday, May 26 at 5 p.m.

Why: To complete the reconstruction and paving of the parking lot

Motorists are reminded to use caution, reduce speed and watch for directional signage.

2015 National Building Code to be Adopted July 1, 2017

Those who are building or renovating in the City are encouraged to take note of the changes and pick up an information package created by the City of Prince Albert Building Department.

35th Terry Fox Award Presented to Katie Enequist

Prince Albert, Sk. - At the May 15th meeting of Prince Albert City Council, Mayor Greg Dionne presented the 35th Terry Fox Award and Citation to fourteen year old Katie Enequist. Katie has been chosen as the recipient of the Terry Fox Award for how she has faced a variety of complex and rare health challenges with positive enthusiasm. She a Grade 7 student at Osborne School who brightens the day for students and staff with her infectious smile and loving hugs. On December 21, 2016 Katie was named Chief of Police for the City of Prince Albert for the day, and brought her joyful demeanour and presence to the Police Department. She was thrilled to fill in for temporarily-demoted Chief Troy Cooper and worked on her stern looks to deal with the detatchment.
