Not sure if you need a permit for something? Want to put a sign up for your business? This section will inform you of the proper procedures to attain permits inside the City of Prince Albert.
Please be advised that if you are intending to build, move, demolish, alter or add onto a new or existing structure within the City of Prince Albert, you can expect a two-week waiting period. This includes applications for complete Building Permit packages, Building Permits, Crossing Applications, Grade Certificates and Connections Certificates.
Until your building permit is issued, NO construction may begin. Construction that is started prior to the issuance of a permit will be subject to a minimum $250.00 surcharge and any other action that is deemed appropriate.
A Building Permit is required whenever you are planning on building, renovating, moving or demolishing a building or planning a change of use of or an addition to a new or existing building.
A Development Permit is required for construction of a new building, an addition to an existing building or a change of use of a bulding or site.

Building Moving Permit (pdf) All buildings must receive approval for relocation prior to permit issuance. This may require a pre-inspection at standardized fees. The relocation of a building requires a building permit and all buildings must be inspected and approved for relocation into a new area of the City.
