Communications DepartmentPaper bags required for yard waste collection starting July 1

Beginning July 1, 2017, only compostable yard waste paper bags and securely tied bundles of branches will be accepted for yard waste collection. Plastic bags will no longer be collected.

“Moving to paper bags will help the City eliminate the expenses related to the debagging process used when yard waste is collected in plastic bags,” said Mohammad Kraishan, Operations Manager for the City. “As the City strives to enhance more responsible environmental practices, collecting yard waste in paper bags also makes the program environmentally friendly.”
