Communications35th Terry Fox Award Presented to Katie Enequist

<p>Prince Albert, Sk. - At the May 15th meeting of Prince Albert City Council, Mayor Greg Dionne presented the 35th Terry Fox Award and Citation to fourteen year old Katie Enequist.

Katie has been chosen as the recipient of the Terry Fox Award for how she has faced a variety of complex and rare health challenges with positive enthusiasm. She a Grade 7 student at Osborne School who brightens the day for students and staff with her infectious smile and loving hugs.

On December 21, 2016 Katie was named Chief of Police for the City of Prince Albert for the day, and brought her joyful demeanour and presence to the Police Department. She was thrilled to fill in for temporarily-demoted Chief Troy Cooper and worked on her stern looks to deal with the detatchment.

PAVA has worked for over two years to raise over $170,000 to bring Beach Volleyball courts to Prince Albert. The courts will serve the beach volleyball needs of all ages with youth development programs and games, along with adult 2s, 4s and 6s leagues starting later this month.</p>
