Thursday, January 18, 2018 7:00 PM - "Stories for Grown-Ups" presented by Danica Lorer

Event Description

Join Danica Lorer as she shares original stories rooted in memory and imagination and in this region we call home. Her stories feature strong females both real and fantastical. You may find yourself swept away by tales of sisters locked in a rustic farmhouse or a mermaid swimming in a shimmering blue flax field. You may connect with memories of time spent at a grandmother's table. Warm up a cold winter's night with story. Danica Lorer's name rests in the word explorer. She lives in Saskatchewan, where she finds adventure and inspiration in fields, forests, riverbanks, cities, small towns, and libraries. Over the past twenty years as a professional storyteller, her favourite audience members and workshop participants have been from 0-103 years old. Danica believes in the power of the story and the importance of listening and telling. She is also a freelance writer, face and body painter, poet, and the host of Shaw TV Saskatoon's literary arts program 'Lit Happens'. Danica's stories are rooted in imagination and memory and embedded in the place she calls home. Come and meet Danica and enjoy some great storytelling! Everyone welcome! http://www.jmcpl.ca/online-programs-calendar/
